Picture this… I'm sitting in a Sydney airport departure lounge booked on a 1pm flight to Melbourne for two groups that evening at 6pm and 8pm. Flight is delayed for technical reasons until 3pm but at 2:45pm flight is cancelled. Getting to Melbourne in time to moderate is now an impossibility. Cue panic.

One phone call to JB Market Research later… crisis averted. In the time it took me to get back to my office in Sydney from the airport, Maureen and her team had reconfigured their set-up and provided me with the ability to moderate my groups remotely. The sessions were seamless.

Group participants were greeted and seated, and so was I via a large monitor at one end of the table and business owner Maureen herself served as my in-room proxy in the sessions - working the flipchart like a pro and taking the groups through a couple of complex laddering and card sort exercises in my absence.
